For a data pipeline with multiple integrated AWS services, CI/CD adds significant agility and reliability.

CI/CD Readiness

This project has been designed with automation and scalability in mind from the beginning, making it fully ready for CI/CD adoption. Key enablers include:

  • Infrastructure as Code: All AWS resources are defined using AWS SAM, allowing reproducible and consistent deployments.
  • Automated Testing: The project includes unit and integration tests, ensuring that each code change is validated automatically.
  • Environment Variables and Parameters: All configurations are externalized and parameterized, making them easily configurable during automated pipelines.

How It Could Work

A typical CI/CD workflow might include:

  1. Code pushed to GitHub
  2. GitHub Actions (or any CI/CD tool like GitLab CI, CircleCI, AWS CodePipeline) detects the change
  3. Automated unit and integration tests run
  4. SAM Build and SAM Deploy executed if tests pass
  5. New version of the pipeline is deployed to AWS
